  Great Pumpkin Contest The time for the Great Pumpkin weigh off has come and gone. Now we have a bunch of pumpkins. $.18 per pound 806 NE 202 Ave Camas, WA. 98607 360-513-7251 Well the contest did not go as well as hoped. With the rain and cooler temperature there were only customers. We had our own 135 lb pumpkin, but it was not elegilble for the contest. If you have any feedback to help us for next years contest please email. As you can see in one of the pictures there is plenty of space to make this a fun activity for next years season.   There are uncountable benefits to composting, but this is a way to see how redworm castings as an organic fertilizer will out do chemical fertilizers in cost reduction, disease resistance, and fertilizer longevity. The seeds used in this contest are going to be from the 200+ lb pumpkin seen right. 
 I will also be seeking additional sponsors for the 2nd through 20th place prizes. If you would like to be a sponsor and donate a prize or service please go to the "contact us" page to let us know. As the contest progresses those who wish to show their pumpkin status will be welcome to send a picture of their best pumpkin to date and I will keep it updated weekly on this website. The weigh in will be Saturday, October 4th, 2008 on the 10 acre Northwest redworms property. We will have a crane available on sight to unload pumpkins and for hire to load at your address (pick up rates will be posted at a later time). We still need a large capacity scale if you know of one available please let me know. If we do not come up with a scale we will define the winner by measuring the pumpkin. |
